2012 POST06: PEBBLE BEACH CONCOURS/RM AUCTION MONTEREY 2012

Another Monterey weekend has passed with a 1928 Mercedes-Benz Saoutchik S Type taking this year's Best of Show title at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.

Following a number of successful auctions over the past years, RM Auctions had a number of amazing cars on display. The star was a rather special Ford: this 1968 Ford GT40 Gulf/Mirage Lightweight Racing Car, selling for a record-breaking $11,000,000.

Other succesful sales include a number of classics (see images above and below) I photographed for RM: a couple of Jaguar E-Types, an Austin Healey 3000, a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster and a black 1955 300 SL Gullwing which achieved an impressive $1,171,500.
